I Wish I Could Rewind The Time

by DavidBokolo
IF I COULD REWIND THE HAND OF THE TIME

One beautiful Sunday afternoon, down by the valley,
Where the waters cascading down the rocks upon the stony bed,
I sat, lost in reverie on my life continuous struggles,
When His shadows appeared, silhouetted against the
Fading Sun upon the grasses beside me;
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

Strong and powerful, like a stallion, he stood.
I could see the dimples, as the shadow of a smile
Played around the corner of his mouth,
His voice was the purring of the stallion I’ve imagined.
And so, he lifted me out of my depressed state;
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

Life has blossomed and bloomed between us.
He represents a world of perfect nature’s harmony
In my life’s void before that chanced encounter.
I was all but lost, and then he found me drifting;
I was in the backswing of life when he came:
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

How I have missed that affection and love,
When life’s trial my way so cruelly dogged;
He brought into my life a rekindled confidence.
I wish I have known him all of my life journeys,
He would have lifted all my weariness and misery;
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

He is the joy of my lost love fulfilled.
He is the pillar upon whom I leaned.
His strength reassured my weary being.
I wish I had known him and being
In his powerful and awesome presence;
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

The earth, quakes and the rock melt before him.
Seas dry up and the mountains flattened before him.
The shadows retreat and my foes tremble at his voice,
Firm and tender is his love to me; valuing me more
Than all the jewels and rubies in the bowel of the earth:
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

I feel him when I am alone and lonely.
He speaks in tone purring graciously into my soul.
When fear assails my state and labour wearies me.
When wastefulness attends my life labours;
He bears me through all the treacherous parts:
I wish I could rewind the hand of the time.

Come sing with me sweet melody of seraphim’s blues.
Rejoice with me in sweet Harmony of love bestowed,
By him who knows and loves all who loves him.
Come worship with me, him who sets my parts
Above the slippery and treacherous highway;
I wish we could rewind the hand of the time.
