Protection

She laid her life into his hands. Just like that. And it wasn´t only on the romantic sense of the expression. She hid most of her life behind a pale mask of strength, never shedding a tear in front of strangers. Yes, her life sometimes got hard, but she knew that the only real way to get over those sad situations was working hard for a better future. Maybe some others guys were born in better living conditions. So what? It wasn´t a valid reason to give up on all the precious things life has got to offer.
However, sometimes, her tired heart longed for a warm embrace to keep her soul from freezing of loneliness.
And against all odds, she found the right gentleman. He really cared about her, and he was nore than deeply determined to heal any wounds caused by a difficult past. Life taught the young lady to be strong, no matter what could happen. But now, she was free to express her true self. There would be no more drinking bitter tears up. Someone was to protect her any form of harm. It was safe to dream with a better life, where pain would be only a distant memory.
