The words I long to hear

It was that night that my thoughts compiled
into something I thought had shaped to fear
I waited for a word to come out of your mouth
that made the other words to disappear.


You've said a lot, talked about everything
Just to keep the time running
while all eyes of the crowd were on you
You've said a lot, but of those words I'm still waiting.


Blah, blah, blah
Words kept rushing out
Fear inside me wanted to burst now
Fear you might stop talking and that word I wanted to hear would never come out.


As for every word you say is a heart beat you take away
For I am afraid to hear or not to hear
The words I long to hear yet don't know what to feel
It's ringing in my ear, the sound of my fear.


You were thankful for the people who understood
You explained yourself to them though you never had to
I thought you wanted to say something but you didn't
I guess those words will remain in my head and never in yours for my taking.
